Anyone else super terrible at making decisions? Nope, just me? Ok great. Well, if you are like me and can never decide what to make for meals or desserts, I feel you. Buttt I have the dessert solution for you. When you can decide between a chocolate chip cookie or a brownie or a handful of Oreos, make this recipe!
I remember one of my friends made slutty brownies for a sleepover and that was the first time I had ever heard of them. I remember thinking that whoever decided to combine cookies, brownies, and Oreos into one dessert was a genius. The other day, my mom came home from the grocery store with Oreos and I had a flashback to eating slutty brownies with my friends. With everything going on, I needed a good comfort food and a reminder of some of my favorite memories. So of course, I made a vegan version and GUYS they turned out amazing.
Oreos being vegan is literally the best thing to ever happen. I swear no one believes me when I tell them that, but its true!! They are literally just straight sugar, which makes them all the more delicious. So, that added to ease of converting this recipe to make it vegan. Honestly, it wasn’t really that hard. As I’ve been baking more and more, I’ve gotten a lot better at converting non-vegan recipes to vegan ones. It’s hard at first, especially with egg and butter substitutes, but it just takes the right mixture and trial and error to make the perfect recipe.
How to Make
Chickpea Flour
I found a new egg substitute and I think it may be my favorite yet!! Before, I would always use the flaxseed recipe as an egg replacement. That definitely works, but I think in certain recipes the chickpea flour works better. You literally make it the same way: combine three tbsps of chickpea flour with 3 tbsps of water. Mix it together and it creates a foamy, creamy mixture. It literally looks like a whisked egg too. It really adds a fluffiness to recipes, which makes it perfect for cookies and cakes and brownies.
If you don’t have chickpea flour on hand, you can definitely substitute it for flax seed. However, your cookies and brownie might turn out a little flatter and less fluffy.
The Cookie Base
The cookie base is super simple to put together and turns out so fluffy and delicious.
What you’ll need:
- 1 1/2 cups white flour
- 1 cup almond flour
- 3 tbsp chickpea flour + 3 tbsp water
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup white sugar
- 1 cup vegan butter (i used earth balance)
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 cup dairy-free chocolate chips
- pinch of salt
So I combined regular flour and almond flour because I like the texture that almond flour gives. In my opinion, it helps to make the cookie base a little fluffier and moister. If you don’t have any on hand, that’s totally fine. You can just use 2 1/2 cups of regular white flour. I also combined brown sugar ad white sugar because it makes the base a little sweeter. Brown sugar provides cookies with a caramel flavor, which I really love! Again, you can just use white sugar if you prefer. I wouldn’t just use brown sugar though because that might make your cookie base too sweet. For the butter, I used Earth Balance because they are my fave but you can honestly use any kind. In the past, I’ve used Smart Balance vegan olive oil butter in cookies and it worked just fine! There are so many awesome vegan butters and butter substitutes out there, and most of them will work for this recipe.
First, you want to cream the butter and sugar together until fluffy. You can do this by using a hand mixer or a spoon will work just fine (which is what I used). Just make sure that it mixes together perfectly. Then you want to add in the flour, baking soda, and salt and combine together. Don’t overmix, just mix well enough that everything is combined. Then add in your chickpea flour mixture and vanilla extract. Lastly, add in your chocolate chips and make sure that everything is well mixed together.
This will be the bottom layer of your slutty brownies. So you want to spray an 8×8 baking pan (or honestly whatever size you have) and pour this into the bottom. Flatten it down gently with your hand.
Add the Oreos
Ahh the best part in my opinion. The oreos MAKE these slutty brownies, so don’t forget this essential step. You can honestly add in as many as you want, but if using square pan do 4×4 (16) oreos. Just set them on top of the cookie layer, no need to press them in or anything.
The Brownie Top
You are not ready for this chocolatey, fudgy brownie layer that will make (or break) your slutty brownies.
What You’ll Need:
- 2 cups flour
- 1/4 cup cocoa powder
- 1 cup sugar
- 1/4 cup vegan butter
- 1/2 cup dairy-free chocolate chips, melted
- 3 tbsp chickpea flour + 3 tbsp water
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- pinch of salt
- 1 cup almond milk
So for the brownies, I just stuck to using regular flour because I think it works better to get that super fudgy texture. Again, if you are gluten-free, you can definitely use almond flour just be warned that the texture may turn out differently. I used pretty much all the same ingredients from the cookie base as well for the butter and chickpea flour. For the almond milk, I used a vanilla unsweetened one, but honestly, whatever non-dairy milk you have on hand will work perfectly.
First, you want to cream together the butter and sugar. Then add in the flour, salt, and cocoa powder and mix until well combined. Then add in the almond milk, chickpea flour mixture, vanilla extract, and melted chocolate. To melt the chocolate, combine 1/2 cup chocolate chips with about 1 tbsp coconut oil or butter and microwave. You could also heat it on the stove if you prefer. You can also add in a handful of chocolate chips to the brownie mixture for an extra ounce of chocolate. Once everything is mixed together, pour the brownie mixture on top of the oreos and cookie base and smooth out.
You will want to bake this at 350 for about 40 minutes.
How to Store the Brownies
They will store in an airtight container for about 3-4 days at room temp. After that, you can freeze them in an airtight container for up to 2 months.

This looks AMAZING, am gonna try this tomorrow but with flax seed meal instead of chickpea flour even though I have that I’m kind of nervous to use it in baked goods. Are these egg substitutes interchangeable?
Hi! Yes, I find that flaxseed works just as well as chickpea flour. You’ll want to do 1 tbsp flaxseed + 3 tbsps water and let it sit for 5-10 minutes in a bowl to thicken. I hope you enjoy the brownies!!
