These delicious sriracha bbq cauliflower wings will become your new favorite snack, side dish, or meal. The sriracha bbq sauce is the perfect combination of sweet, spicy, and savory and the breading adds the right amount of crunch.
So I absolutely loved the buffalo cauliflower wings so I decided to try out a different sauce and a slightly different recipe. I wanted to see if I could make the cauliflower wings a little crispier so I added crushed up tortilla chips and they were a game-changer!
Guys you seriously need to make this recipe. The sauce with the breading makes the perfect combo! Serve with a side of celery and vegan ranch and you have the most delicious meal or snack!
How to Make Sriracha BBQ Cauliflower Wings:
Ingredients:
- 1 head of cauliflower
- 1 cup flour
- 1 1/2 cups almond milk
- 2 tbsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp salt
- 2 cups crushed tortilla chips
- 1/4 cup sriracha sauce
- 1/4 bbq sauce
- 1 tbsp maple syrup
- 1 tbsp minced garlic
- 2 tbsp sesame oil
How to Make:
Preheat the oven to 450 F. Start with one head of cauliflower and chop it into bite-sized pieces. Then add the chopped cauliflower to a large zip-lock bag.
In a medium-sized bowl, mix the flour, almond milk, garlic powder, and salt. Then pour the mixture into the bag with the cauliflower and shake until all the cauliflower is coated. Then crush 2 cups of tortilla chips and add to the bag with the cauliflower. Shake again to coat the cauliflower.
Then pour the cauliflower onto a baking sheet and bake in the oven for 40-50 mins until golden and crispy.
While the cauliflower is baking, then make the sauce. Add the sriracha sauce, bbq sauce, maple syrup, sesame oil, and garlic to a bowl and whisk together. Once the cauliflower is done baking, pour the sauce over the cauliflower and then bake for another 15 – 20 mins.
Recommendations:
Maple Syrup: I would recommend only adding the maple syrup if you are using a savory BBQ sauce. If you are using a sweeter BBQ sauce, you may make the sauce too sweet. You can add any to your liking though, especially if you want the sauce to be less spicy!
Substitutions:
Flour: you can use any flour you prefer for this recipe. If you need to make it gluten-free, almond flour or a gluten-free flour would work great too!
Tortilla Chips: You can use crushed crackers or other chips as well for this recipe. I think tortilla chips work best because of their texture.
Sesame Oil: You can use any oil, coconut oil, or vegan butter for this recipe in substitution for the sesame oil!
