In a bowl, mash the rinsed black beans with a fork or potato masher.
Add in the garlic, onion, garlic powder, onion powder, chili powder, and flax egg. Combine thoroughly.
Pour in a little coconut or olive oil to a medium saucepan. Take a handful of the bean mixture and press it into a patty shape. Place the burger on the saucepan and cook for about 2 minutes on each side, or until slightly brown and crispy.
Repeat for the other burgers.
