Spicy Black Bean Burger

  • 1 16 oz can black beans, drained and rinsed
  • 1/2 cup sliced white onion
  • 2 tbsp minced garlic
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp chili powder
  • 1 flax egg


  • In a bowl, mash the rinsed black beans with a fork or potato masher.
  • Add in the garlic, onion, garlic powder, onion powder, chili powder, and flax egg. Combine thoroughly.
  • Pour in a little coconut or olive oil to a medium saucepan. Take a handful of the bean mixture and press it into a patty shape. Place the burger on the saucepan and cook for about 2 minutes on each side, or until slightly brown and crispy.
  • Repeat for the other burgers.
